So I went into Sears the other day (I know, I know, what would Rachel McAdams’ character on Mean Girls say!), and surprise, surprise, they actually carry some decent items. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that they offer a great range of “stuff†at extremely tempting prices. After purchasing a shiny Delphi XM Satellite Radio for $75.99, I was happy enough to plan on making Sears a monthly… ah, biweekly stop.
Speaking of Delphi, since I was looking to write an article on Delphi Forums, I thought I’d better make a visit to their website. Exactly three and a half hours later, I was ready to stop perusing their forums and actually begin my research.
Before that, I was told that Delphi gets about 1000 new forums every month on every possible subject there is to discuss. After spotting a “Singapore Lancer Club†forum and a “Bare Escentuals Addicts†forum above it, I was a believer.
Of course, coming from the company that first started offering internet to residents who are not affiliated with a university or some institution in 1992, an increase of 1000 forums per month is not quite as staggering as it sounds. Right? Still, even us cynics have to admire their endurance.
Could this popularity be attributed to a particular reason? Perhaps the compelling topics posted in the forums attract more internet surfers each day? A Delphi rep was patient enough to explain a factor to me.
“Participants in Delphi Forums and Talk City are online activists--people who are comfortable interacting online. For this reason, they are more likely to make online purchases. For brand marketers, advertising on Delphi Forums and Talk City gives you access to opinion leaders who shape online conversations about culture, trends, current events, and products,†He says.
As I understand it, intelligent surfers who like to talk are attracted to the Delphi forums, thus making it a haven for advertising companies. With a page view count of 75,000,000 per month, Delphi Forums is amongst one of the most popular site on the web. Talk City, which is Delphi Forums’ little brother, reels in about 15,000,000 page views per month. An advertiser’s haven indeed!
If you are interested in advertising with Delphi Forums, visit their website at www.delphiforums.com/advertising. If anyone needs me, I shall be here, enjoying my spankin’ new Satellite Radio.
